Founded in 1957, the San Francisco International Film Festival (SFFILM) remains a cornerstone of the global film circuit and a vital part of Bay Area culture. 2026 Festival Highlights:
- Curated Global Cinema: 11 days of in-person screenings featuring narrative features, documentaries, shorts, and mid-length films from every corner of the world.
- Closing Night Event: On Monday, May 4, the festival concludes with a legendary celebration at the Castro Theatre. To honor "May the 4th," there will be a special screening of Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back followed by an onstage conversation with Anthony Daniels (C-3PO).
- Filmmaker Engagement: Participate in intimate Q&A sessions, industry talks, and "Schools at the Festival" programs that connect audiences directly with emerging and established filmmakers.
