San Francisco Pride is more than a party; it is a global beacon of activism, history, and liberation. The 56th Annual San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade returns in June 2026 under the powerful theme "Queer Joy is Resistance," emphasizing the radical act of celebration in the face of adversity.
The Weekend Highlights:
- The Pride Parade (Sunday): Beginning at 10:30 AM at Market and Beale Streets, the parade features over 200 contingents, including the legendary Dykes on Bikes and the Mighty Marching Bands. The route runs west along Market Street, ending at 8th Street near the festival gates.
- Civic Center Celebration: The festival grounds at Civic Center Plaza Click to open side panel for more information host over 300 exhibitors and 20 community-programmed stages, including the API Community Pride Stage, Leather Alley, and the Soul of Pride African Diaspora stage.
- The Main Stage: Located on the steps of City Hall, the Main Stage features a diverse lineup of pop stars, drag legends, and moving speeches from political and grassroots leaders.
- City Hall Party: On Sunday afternoon, the historic City Hall Rotunda hosts the official Pride Party with hosted bars and top-tier entertainment (ticketed).
Pro-Tip: Arrive at Market Street near Union Square by 9:00 AM to claim a front-row spot for the parade. Remember to wear layers; the city’s microclimates mean a sunny morning often turns into a foggy, windy afternoon!
