One of the city's most beloved summer traditions, Flower Piano transforms the San Francisco Botanical Garden Click to open side panel for more information into an outdoor concert hall. Produced in collaboration with Sunset Piano, this 10-day event features over 100 scheduled performances alongside "open play" hours where anyone—from budding students to virtuosos—can take a seat at the keys.
Event Highlights:
- Twelve Pianos, Infinite Genres: From the Zellerbach Garden to the Redwood Grove, discover pianos hosting everything from classical and jazz to salsa, pop, and avant-garde.
- Flower Piano Lounge: Enhance your visit with a ticket to the "Lounge" in the Celebration Garden. Enjoy priority entry, dedicated restrooms, a premium bar, and exclusive headliner performances in a comfortable, relaxed setting.
- Flower Piano Fashion Show: A whimsical highlight featuring outrageous, botanical-inspired apparel by Bay Area haberdashers and designers.
- Community & Open Play: Outside of scheduled sets, the pianos are open to the public. It’s a rare chance to perform surrounded by rare plant collections and a supportive community of music lovers.
- Family Programming: Dedicated days for "Family and Community" feature youth performances, puppet shows, and hands-on musical activities.
