The Best Brunch in San Francisco

Who doesn’t enjoy brunch? Menu options are totally versatile, start and end times are interminable, and it’s an excellent excuse to enjoy champagne with your morning vitamin C.

At Stanford Court Hotel, we offer a breakfast buffet daily from 6:30-10:30 am, complete with fresh-baked pastries, organic coffee from Marin County, and hot meals made with local ingredients. Check out our bed and breakfast package rate – or, if you’re planning a day out to explore more of the city, enjoy brunch at these nearby eateries.

Mymy

1500 California St., Nob Hill

This neighborhood breakfast place is a brunch-favorite among locals and located just five blocks from Stanford Court Hotel. The freshness and rich flavor of Mymy is due in part to its use of local products, such as breads from local bakeries. Its dog-friendly outdoor seating ensures that you and your best friend can enjoy brunch together. We recommend the lemon souffle pancake for its heavenly fluffiness. The crab cake benedict is also a favorite, with a generous helping of fresh crab meat. Top off your brunch with Mymy’s fresh mimosas or a bloody mary and enjoy a late morning or early afternoon in Nob Hill. Brunch served daily 8-2:30 pm.

Lapisara Eatery

698 Post St., Nob Hill

Daily brunch specials, bottomless mimosas, and a bright, clean interior make Lapisara an excellent choice in Nob Hill. Located on the corner of Post and Jones streets, Lapisara is an American breakfast, brunch and lunch spot by day and Thai restaurant by night. Serving brunch from 7:30 to 3 pm daily, its attention to detail makes for a fine meal. Try the pulled pork benedict – the chipotle hollandaise is an unforgettable emulsion.

Park Tavern

1542 Stockton St., Telegraph Hill

Park Tavern has been listed on the SF Chronicle’s Top 100 since its inception. Featuring pastries from the Starter Bakery in the East Bay and creations by executive chef Jennifer Puccio, the upscale Park Tavern doesn’t disappoint. The smoked trout benedict is an outstanding dish; shrimp and grits is another favorite. Compliment your meal with an orange or grapefruit mimosa. Weekend brunch is served 10 to 2:30 pm and usually draws a crowd. Arrive early to beat the rush and after your meal, enjoy a post-brunch walk in the adjacent Washington Square.

Farmerbrown

25 Mason St., Tenderloin

Located right near the Powell Street BART station on Market Street, Farmerbrown claims the title of “San Francisco Soul,” using southern recipes and Creole cooking styles to create down-home meals in the west. The bright, open space offers an updated, hip version of tried-and-true southern hospitality. You can opt for the breakfast buffet which includes all the southern breakfast mainstays (fried chicken, thick-cut bacon, pecan pies and more), or the menu à la carte. Bottomless mimosas are a staple of Farmerbrown brunch, served Sat-Sun from 9-2:30 pm.
