Upcoming Concerts You Don't Want to Miss

Art & Culture

San Francisco attracts some of the best concerts and artists from around the world, and 2018 won’t be any different. Planning a visit to SF? We recommend you enjoy the city like a local and take advantage of all the dynamic performances that come through and #NeverStopStartingUp. Here we’ve compiled a list of upcoming concerts and shows we’re most looking forward to.

Dua Lipa

The award-winning English singer has hit her stride after the release of her self-titled debut album in 2017. Dua Lipa is a new force in the pop scene and her husky alto voice ensures that she’ll stick around. Show is Feb 13 at The Masonic.

Ricky Gervais

The cutting comic and show creator is a living legend, known for his shrewd jokes and no-holds-barred approach to just about everything (including insulting all of Hollywood while hosting the Golden Globes). Enjoy a night out laughing it all away with Ricky Gervais, who has two shows set for SF on Jan. 24-25 at The Masonic. Don’t miss out! Tickets here.

Superchunk

This American indie band from Chapel Hill formed in 1989 and is still laying down tracks and playing shows. Superchunk is set to play at the Great American Music Hall on Feb. 25. Opening act is rock duo Bat Fangs. Ticket info here.

Book of Mormon

This musical created by South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker is a show that even those who dislike musicals can enjoy. The Tony-award winning Book of Mormon is back in SF to the delight of theater-goers and comedy fans. It opens Feb. 6 at the Orpheum Theatre. Check out this modern, hilarious approach to a musical that is destined to keep theatre live for many years to come. Ticket info here.

SF Symphony: West Side Story

This iconic musical has such a long shelf life because of its explosive musical score, moving love story and little bit of mambo. Watch the San Francisco Symphony play West Side Story along with the 1963 remastered film is projected. Both a movie night and night at the symphony all in one. Ticket info here.
