Union Square Holiday Fun

Travel Tips

Our Nob Hill hotel is located just a few blocks away from the iconic Union Square shopping district of San Francisco.

To get to Union Square you can walk or take the famous cable cars. Either way, you will be in for a real treat. Union Square is always a destination but with the holidays there are extra special events and activities happening that make it a must-visit place.

Here are some of our favorite things to check out in Union Square:

Christmas Tree at Neiman Marcus– Have you ever seen a four-story Christmas tree? Here is your chance to! Visit Neiman Marcus to see the remarkable sight.

Ice Skating Rink in Union Square– Lace up the skates and enjoy the holidays in San Francisco. Pro-tip: It can get very busy, so be sure to purchase your tickets in advance! It’s a small rink made more for the experience than for Olympic training. Have fun with friends and family.

Street Performers- There are always great street performers dancing, performing music or singing. Walk around Union Square to see what they are performing for the holidays.

New Union Square Apple Store– It’s true that Apple stores are as well-known for their architectural design as they are for their tech products (ps- did you know we have iPads in the lobby for guests’ use?!). Visit the new Apple store. Outside the store is a public courtyard that is perfect for a little shopping break.

Maiden Lane- Amongst the hustle and bustle of Union Square lies a two block alley way, Maiden Lane. Here you will find cafes, restaurants and designer stores like Chanel, Tory Burch, and more. One visit to Maiden Lane and you will feel like you’ve been transported to Paris.

Be sure to ask our friendly concierge for their suggestions of what to explore at Union Square. Also, follow @StanfordCourtSF on Instagram and Twitter for more updates.
