Eat Off the Grid with a Presidio Picnic
Every Sunday from March to October, The Presidio park in San Francisco hosts a giant picnic of sorts. A convoy of local food trucks lines up and offers creative culinary creations, drinks, and snacks from 11-4 pm Sundays. The lush, green lawn of The Presidio fills with activity, picnic blankets and music, all set before sweeping views of San Francisco Bay.
The Presidio Picnic is a choice way to spend a Sunday in San Francisco. Start the day by sampling inventive food fares in a community setting overlooking the city and bay. Crissy Field is nearby, or if you’re looking to explore the Golden Gate Bridge – or even cross it – the Presidio Picnic gets your Sunday going with live DJ music, lawn games and activities for all ages.
The weekly picnic has 25+ food trucks, music, lawn games and activities for kids. Dogs on leashes are welcome and a live DJ typically plays during the entire picnic. This year, a cultural dance performance will be held every fourth Sunday of the month.
Parking is a bit iffy, so if you’re up for an adventure, we recommend you check out Stanford Court Hotel’s bike rental program. Off the Grid is a local catering company made up of independent food trucks offering a diverse array of foodstuffs, from fried chicken and waffles to Filipino fusion. The excellent menu options have something for everyone, whether your diet is vegan, gluten-free or vegetarian.
The Presidio Picnic runs March 8 through Oct. 21 this year. Make the most of the season with an outdoor picnic at this iconic spot.
