Free Things 2 Do in SF: September Edition
Travel Tips
Ah, September. The buses are back on the street. The pencils have been sharpened. And school's back in session.
Time to say goodbye to summer and hello 2 a little more structure and discipline. But the fun doesn’t have to stop completely. Heck, the fun doesn’t even have to cost you anything.
Here’s a little roundup of some freebie fun happening this month.
Presidio Picnic
Head to the main parade ground lawn of the Presidio on Sunday, September 17th for the Presidio Picnic. There’s plenty of room, with seven acres to spread out and explore free yoga classes, lawn games, a photo booth, and free kids bike-riding lessons from the Presidio YMCA. There will also be nature-based arts and crafts 4 kids in the Presidio Adventure Zone tent.
Schroeder’s Oktoberfest Block Party
Schroeder’s Oktoberfest kicks off with a giant outdoor block party on September 15th. The event is free to attend — though you’ll probably want to spend some money on food and ale to truly get the most out of it. Enjoy live music, Polka dancing, prizes, beer games, and, of course, the traditional #DanishChickenDance.
Tour de Coop
Are you into sustainable farming? Urban gardens? Locally sourced food? Cute little chickens? Check out the 2017 Tour de Coop: Cute Chicks, Beehives & Homesteads. It’s happening on September 16th and it’s a great way to explore the culture of sustainable living in Silicon Valley.
