Explore Nob Hill on Foot

San Francisco is one of the most magical cities to discover on foot and Nob Hill is one of the most exciting neighborhoods to explore. Perched atop hills, hence, Nob Hill, the area around our hotel offers beautiful views in every direction.

 

At Stanford Court, we believe that the best way to experience a city is by living like a local. You can ask our friendly front desk team members and concierge for recommendations at any time during your stay. But if you want to have a game plan before you arrive, here are some tips to enjoy walking around and exploring the neighborhood.

 

We are thrilled to partner with Vizzit, a self-guided experience on your smartphone. Simply download their app and follow their guided tour around iconic sights in the neighborhood. You can see the fifteen stops on the tour here. You can do the walking tour at your own pace, but it runs approximately 90 minutes. We always recommend the Vizzit tour for guests who arrive prior to check-in and want to explore the neighborhood until their room is ready.

 

In addition to the suggestions in the Vizzit app, here are a few more places we think you’ll want to check out. But first, make sure you have on comfortable walking shoes and if you want, get your step counter on your watch or bracelet tracker ready!

 

Washington and Hyde Mini-Park:

One of the smallest parks in all of San Francisco, this modern playground is designed to look like a colorful, child-size city. Little ones love the unique play structures and soft rubber flooring. 

 

Grace Cathedral:

Located one block away from our property, this iconic San Francisco property describes itself as, “a warm congregation and a house of prayer for all people.We welcome visitors from all over the world. “ They are well known for their donation-based yoga classes, as well as labyrinth. Grace Cathedral’s front doors are replicas of Lorenzo Ghiberti’s famous baptistry doors in Florence, Italy and are a sight to be seen. Learn more here.

 

Greenwich Stairs:

Get those extra steps in at this hidden gem. Located at Greenwich and Grant, these steps are a great way to get up to Coit Tower. It’s a good distance from the hotel but worth every step!
