Upcoming Springtime Activities in SF

Art & Culture

It’s springtime in San Francisco! Here’s a look at the best upcoming activities of the season, from dancing in the streets to cutting-edge tech conferences.

SF Giants Season Opener

Nothing says spring like a ballgame at Oracle Park, with opening day set for March 28. Catch sunshine and crisp views of the San Francisco Bay at the afternoon opener against the San Diego Padres! If you don’t catch opening day, keep an eye out for themed nights planned for this season, from Bike to the Park Night to Bruce Lee Tribute Night.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Celebrate spring in hues of pink. The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown includes live performance, delicious food vendors, martial arts and all things J-Pop at the Sakura 360 event. This year’s Cherry Blossom Festival is planned for April 13-21.

SF International Beer Festival

Back for its 26th year, the city’s international beer festival features all the best brews in the world, and this year includes an expanded focus on spirits. Enjoy pairings from local favorites such as Tommy’s Joynt. Held at the Fort Mason Center. Buy tickets in advance! Held April 20.

Springtime Tech Conferences

Attend the Google Cloud Next ’19 this April 9-11 to gain practical insight from IT professionals responsible for the development of Google Cloud. Attend workshops, learn about cloud solutions and latest business trends!

You can also dig deep into containerization strategies at Dockercon April 30-May 2. Enjoy networking sessions with the likes of Bosch and GlaxoSmithKline.

Both events will be held at Moscone West at 800 Howard St. in San Francisco.

How Weird Street Faire

Art and technology converges once again at the annual How Weird Street Faire, celebrating 20 years of weirdness in downtown San Francisco. Dance in the streets at nine different stages of electronic music while enjoying art, performance, food, and costumed attendees, brought to you by the World Peace Through Technology Organization. This year’s theme is the year 1880s and 1980s. Catch the street fair on May 5 at Howard and Second streets. See additional info.
